Mobile Grooming FAQ

  • Mobile pet grooming is professional grooming in a custom and self-contained mobile unit that arrives at your door to take care of your pet's grooming needs. Mobile pet grooming is preferred by most of today's busy pet owners. The convenience for you and the exclusive attention for your pet make mobile grooming the most sensible choice. Our mobile salon is completely equipped to provide a safe, attentive, and comfortable grooming experience for your pet.

  • No, we offer a latchkey service as well.

  • We will text you upon our arrival. We will come to your door; however, we ask that you bring your pet to our mobile unit where we will take care and custody once the pet is securely in our vehicle.

  • Our mobile unit is equipped with a generator that powers the salon. Our unit is also equipped with a 50-gallon water holding tank so, most of the time, we do not need external water. However, in cases where there is more than one dog being groomed, we ask that a water hookup be available in case it is needed.

  • Anywhere from 1 to 3 hours depending on the service provided and the size/breed of the pet.

  • We schedule our mobile grooming appointments based on zones. We are in each zone on a particular day of the week. While we make every effort to arrive at the time of your appointment, external factors such as traffic, special needs of previous dogs, mechanical issues, etc. can put us behind schedule. We ask that you give us a one-hour window around the time of your appointment to take into account these factors. We will text you our Estimated Time of Arrival (ETA) if we anticipate being early or late to your appointment.

  • At our Falls Church spa, we ask that you give us at least 48 hours notice before the time of your appointment if you intend to cancel. We may charge a 50% cancellation fee at our discretion depending on the situation. For mobile, at least 48-hour notice is required to cancel an appointment. If 48 hours is not given, or no notice is given at all, the full price of the groom will be charged.

  • Yes, we do!

The Health Benefits of Grooming Your Dog

Regular grooming is more than just about looks; it's a vital part of your dog's health. Here’s why it's so important:

Healthy Skin and Coat

Brushing removes dirt, debris, and loose hair. This prevents painful mats, which can trap moisture and cause skin infections. It also helps spread the natural oils in your dog's fur, leading to a shinier, healthier coat and less skin irritation.

Controls Shedding

Regular brushing and deshedding remove loose fur before it ends up on your furniture and clothes. This is a must for dogs that shed heavily.

Early Problem Detection

Grooming is the perfect time to check your dog's skin for rashes, sores, dry patches, or parasites like fleas and ticks. Catching these problems early allows you to get veterinary help before they become serious.

Proper Nail Care

Overgrown nails are uncomfortable and can make walking difficult or even lead to injury. Regular nail trims prevent nails from snagging or breaking and help your dog maintain a proper, healthy stance.

Dental Health

Grooming often includes brushing your dog's teeth. Good dental hygiene helps prevent plaque, tartar, gum disease, and bad breath, contributing to your dog's overall long-term health.

Clean Ears

Cleaning your dog's ears removes dirt and excess wax, which helps prevent painful ear infections. This is especially important for dogs with long, floppy ears that can trap moisture.

Stress Relief and Bonding

For many dogs, the gentle touch and one-on-one attention of a grooming session can be very calming. It helps reduce stress and is also a great way to strengthen your bond.

A Note on Your Dog's Needs

Remember, every dog is different. Your dog's specific grooming needs will depend on its breed, coat type, and lifestyle. If you're ever unsure, a professional groomer or your veterinarian can help you create the perfect grooming routine for your pet.
